Meet Celine Keefe: Executive Director
Theatre is a powerful force that has the ability to bring people together in ways that I have only seen on stage. When the house lights dim, we are transported to a different world and we are able to experience a story, a feeling, a moment all within a few hours.
For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to building and creating things. When I went to school at Niagara University, I fell in love with the theatre and the community where I did it. I built friendships that would last me a lifetime and found my own voice. There is a beautiful responsibility when you are on stage, you are trusted with telling someone’s story and give those in the audience a good reason sit in a dark theatre to watch a few passionate people on stage. When I returned to get my Masters in Business at the University of Buffalo, I fell in love with the idea of creating all over again.
With 13 Players we have a dream to create something remarkable in Western New York. Building on the success and passion in Niagara Falls and Lewiston, we want to bring people together not just in the theatre, but across the community. The power of the arts in education, corporate life, and beyond is special. We cannot wait to launch our first production with It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play from December 14th to December 16th. Getting to watch Michael Wachowiak direct a beautiful production, Primo Thomas build a remarkable set and connect to other local business owners, and working with Keirsten Thomas on all of our marketing work and seeing her remarkable costumes has been some of the most fulfilling work I have done to date. My heart is in this and I cannot wait to see all we are able to do together. Just wait, it will be beautiful.
